From 1966 to 1972 one of the big events on the Australian musical
calendar was the annual Hoadley's Battle of the Sounds, a national
competition with grand prizes that included trips to London plus
recording contracts and concerts. Two bands that did well in these
competitions were Doug Parkinson In Focus and Fraternity.
