I'm Tom Diskin, producer and programmer for Intermountain Classics, KKRN's weekly classical music program, which airs from 5 to 7PM each Saturday evening. Check the Intermountain Classics section of the KKRN website for specific information on the show.

I came to the Redding area 10 years ago, after having been married and raising three children, as well as a successful teaching career as a Professor of Electronics Technology. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1971, and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Education from Oregon State University in 1987.

As a musician, I started playing the cello at the age of 9, and have been playing more or less continuously since then. I have played in orchestras and played chamber music for the majority of my adult life. Recently I have developed and interest in celtic music, particularly from Scotland and Ireland. I have approximately ten years of private study with three teachers: Max Reinberg of the San Francisco Symphony, Geoffrey Rutkowski of UC Santa Barbara, and Robert Adcock of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. I have had a lifelong dream of being a classical music "disc jockey" and I am very thankful to KKRN for giving me this opportunity. I enjoy getting feedback on my show; please do let me know how you like it and if you have any special music requests or comments!
