North State Symphony’s “Mahler’s World & Bernstein- Candide (short version)

May 6-7, 2017:  Once again Intermountain Classics welcomes Maestro Scott Seaton, conductor and artistic director of North State Symphony, to talk about next weekend’s final season concerts in both Redding and Chico.  Maestro Seaton will talk about the concerts, “Mahler’s World”, featuring a full performance of the Symphony No. 5 by Gustav Mahler, which includes the beautiful and haunting “Adagietto” fourth movement.  Also included in the concert is a performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto in D minor, performed by Diego Bustamente, winner of this year’s Young Artist Competition.  And in the second hour of the program we will hear a performance of Leonard Bernstein’s opera “Candide”, which tells the story of Candide, who is in search of “The Best of All Possible Worlds”.
