This is the inaugural episode of our new show, On Mindfulness. On Mindfulness is a show that engages community members in learning about simple to use, free methods for reducing anxiety/stress and increasing well-being. The show is an offering of the Shasta Resilience Project that connects trained Mind Body Medicine practitioners with community members and is intended to serve as a resource for community wellness resources.
In our first episode we speak to Doreen Bradshaw, Executive Director of the he Health Alliance of Northern California (HANC). HANC is “a network of federally qualified health centers working to promote the health and well-being of our communities in rural and frontier areas of Northern California.” Doreen had a leadership role in bringing Mind Body Medicine (MBM) training to our community in 2019. In our conversation, Doreen talks about HANC, her introduction to MBM, community trauma, and the benefits of engaging in mindfulness-based healing.
