Bending the Arc: Lauren Kennedy, Supporting People with System Impacted Family

Share Tweet Email

In this episode of Bending the Arc, I speak with Affordable Housing Consultant and advocate Lauren Kennedy.  Lauren is passionate about working to create affordable housing options including options for those currently unsheltered.  She is attuned to the needs of those transitioning from carceral systems for many reasons, one of those reasons being first-hand knowledge of what it is like to live with a loved one who is incarcerated.

During our conversation, she references the SHU (Secure Housing Unit) at Pelican Bay Prison and  support offered by Prison Families Alliance. You can access more reports about some of the issues that she raises at Prison Policy Initiative.

As always, you can learn more about the Shasta Equal Justice Coalition at www.shastaequaljustice.org, on Facebook @ShastaEqualJustice, or on Instagram @ shasta_equal_justice.
