Show 135

We invited Paul Simon in as a consultant (not really) and this is what he advised (it could have happened):

Slow down, you move too fast

You got to make the morning last

Just kicking down the cobblestones

Lookin' for fun and feelin' groovy

Mad Love - Belles Will Ring, it was on their 2007 debut album Mood Patterns.

Goodbye Lollipop - Madder Lake, from 1973, the album was titled Stillpoint.

Vikings - Kahvas Jute, it was on a 1972 album titled Wide Open. On bass in the band was Bob Daisley, who went on to play with many well-known acts, including Ozzy Osbourne.

Zeigeist - The Babe Rainbow, from 2021, the album Changing Colours.

Under the Thunder - Skegss, from 2021, their album Rehearsal.

Atomic Electric - Rebecca Barnard and her band Rebecca's Empire, the title track to their 1994 EP.

Get Up And Go-Go - the Dolly Rocker Movement, from their 2009 album A Purple Journey Into the Mod Machine.

Ashley Naylor, guitar star

Two songs by the Ronson Hangup:

Wasted - from their 2009 debut album.

Centaurus - the title track of their last album, released in 2023.

The band reportedly chose the name because the members were fans of guitarist Mick Ronson, who came to fame as a key member of David Bowie's Spiders From Mars.

Rock Out On the Sea - Paul Kelly, from his 2017 album Life Is Fine, with guitarist Ashley Naylor.

Good As Gold - Ashley Naylor, it's on his new album, Alexandria Sunset, coming out in early September 2025.

Warm In the Darkness - Liz Stringer, the title track to her 2012 album.

Antenna - the Church, from 1988, it was on their album Starfish.

My Family - Banana Oil, from their only album, Guava Lampo - released in 1996, or maybe 1998. The CD cover says 96 but the Banana Oil webpage says 98. It was an all-star band featuring Nicky Bomba on drums, Andy Baylor on guitar, Tim Neal on keyboards and David Williamson on saxophone.

Frank Moylan provides our hello and goodbye and in between musical bits.
