Strange Days have found us

Luvin U Is Easy - Confidence Man, from 2022, their album Tilt.

Why Won't You Make Up Your Mind - Tame Impala, from their 2010 album Inner Speaker. We say "they" but mainly it's Kevin Parker doing most everything. It's cool.

Ambergris - Died Pretty, from their 1985 EP Next To Nothing.

A couple of reissues

The Living Kind - Ups And Downs, from 1986. We found it it on a new best-of collection, Stained Glass Memories, which came out in April 2025.

The Big Beat - Young Modern, a 1979 release. It's also on a 2023 best-of set titled It's Automatic.

A battle of the bands, featuring Sunnyboys and the Party Boys

Round one

Sunnyboys - Alone With You, a 1981 single from their debut album, titled Sunnyboys. Sunnyboys were from New South Wales and were led by brothers Jeremy and Peter Oxley.

The Party Boys - He's Gonna Step On You Again, from 1987. They started in 1982, there was no set lineup. The song was a hit in 1971 for some guy named John Kongos.

Round two

Sunnyboys - Show Me Some Discipline, from 1984, the album Glory Days.

The Party Boys - Life In the Fast Lane, the song by the Eagles. When we said the Party Boys had no set lineup, that was because it was a fluid bunch of musicians who all jobs playing in other bands, such as Joe Walsh, in 1985, who stuck around to contribute to an album titled You Need Professional Help.

We're in the weeds now

Somebody To Love - the Velvet Underground, from New South Wales, doing the Darby Slick/Jefferson Airplane song, in 1970. They steadfastly claimed they hadn't heard of that other band with the same name.

Wild About You - the Missing Links, a 1965 single. We found it on a 1999 compilation, Driving You Insane.

Time Will Come - Tol-Puddle Martyrs, a 1967 single. We found it on the 2020 compilation Lsd: A Freakin’ Beat Backlash! Volume Two.

Bowling Brings Out the Swinger In You - the Twilights, a very popular act in 1967, doing a commercial promoting bowling. The band had future Little River Band frontman Glenn Shorrock singing, and Terry Britten on guitar and writing songs.

Love's Not Good Enough - Skyhooks, from their 1975 album Ego Is Not A Dirty Word.

Intro: Roulette - Dom Mariani and the Majestic Kelp, Underwater Casino, 2003.

Exit and extra: Pacific Heights - Baby Langston from their acclaimed 1998 album.
