February 14 is Valentine’s Day. Depending on when you hear this broadcast, it may be just before or a few days after. Trust the voice of experience. Don’t forget. Just another of the public services offered to you by KKRN radio. The first year I met the woman that would become my wife, like a fool, I did not want to commit very heavily.  I gave her a card that said You Me Whee, Whee spelled W h e e. Fortunately she stuck with me anyway. In honor of Valentine’s Day and with all my love to my beautiful wife Joyce, I am playing the title track from pianist Brian Culbertson’s wonderful 2018 Valentine’s Day release of the album The Colors Of Love, a song that became a Billboard number one.

Continuing with the Valentine theme for this program, I have a song written by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart that remains a standard for Valentine’s Day.  My favorite rendition of this song was done by the incomparable jazz trumpeter Miles Davis. The Miles Davis Quintet from their release Cookin’ play My Funny Valentine. Red Garland on the piano is featured with The trumpet of Miles Davis.

Still deep into Valentine’s Day, the next song is  Smooth Jazz pianist Jim Brickman accompanied with a vocal by Martina McBride from the CD Picture This with Valentine.

Thank you for your support of this program and KKRN.
