On this week’s program, you will continue to hear the absolute latest in Smooth Jazz during the first hour. We will have selections from albums released this year from Paul Hardcastle, David Benoit, Rick Braun, Kim Scott, Bob James, and Brian Culbertson. But first this week's program will begin with two of the very latest releases in Smooth Jazz.

We have come to know saxophonist Mindi Abair as one of the most energetic and dynamic performers in Smooth Jazz. Fans just love her. Last year in October, she was the opening performer on the first Thursday of the Catalina island Jazz Festival. When she was booked, her performance immediately sold out. The artist booked to play the Thursday of the second week, guitarist Marc Antoine contracted COVID and had to cancel at the last minute. Mindi agreed to come back and do that performance as well. Once again the result was lively and a completely sold out performance. As part of the deal to do that second week, festival promoter Art Good agreed to bring Mindi back this October to perform in the Catalina Island Avalon casino ballroom for the 35th Catalina Island Jazz Festival. On March 18th Mindi Abair released a new album titled Forever. An early release from that album was Mindi’s song Alive.

Guitarist Blake Aaron Aaron has been highly successful lately with three number ones from his 2020 release of the album Color and Passion and another number one last fall from his single Feels So Right. In the past Aaron has made a habit of releasing singles that later are incorporated into albums. Five weeks ago we played his January 28th release of a single Story Of My Life. On March 4th he released another single Dreamland.
