I wish you and yours a very Happy New Year. Following the tradition of starting off the new year by looking back to the best of last year, for this show I will be playing in order all of Billboard’s Smooth Jazz number one songs from last year. Very likely this will fill two weeks of this show as the competition was tough last year with most number ones staying on top for a single week. This will give us a chance to hear once again the best of the great new music from last year and also allow time to have some brand new Smooth Jazz music released in the coming year.
The plethora of new Smooth Jazz releases that we have been enjoying this past year shows no sign of slowing down in the new year. You will certainly recognize some of the great artists of this genre that have committed to bringing out new albums. That list includes Kayla Waters, Mindi Abair, Jonathan Fritzen, Kim Scott, Bob James, David Benoit, Rick Braun, Peter White, Euge Groove, Lindsey Webster, and Keiko Matsui. It should truly be an exciting year in Smooth Jazz.
