Smooth Jazz great pianist David Benoit of Peanuts movies and TV shows released a new album A Midnight Rendezvous featured this week

First up this week will be a terrific brand new work from one of the all time greats in Smooth Jazz, pianist David Benoit. What a tremendous career he has had. He was signed to do all  the Peanuts movies and TV music following the death of Vince Guaraldi. Benoit also has forged a wonderful solo career which has brought him recognition as one of the artists most responsible for the development of Smooth Jazz. I now have his new album A Midnight Rendezvous and will be playing a selection weekly. 

For this album David Benoit fulfills his long-standing dream of writing and arranging for a 12 piece big band featuring some of the top instrumentalists on the L.A. scene, including the sax of Eric Marienthal, the trumpet of Wayne Bergeron, the bass of Roberto Vally, and others. A high profile release party for this album occurred at Vibrato, Herb Alpert’s jazz club in Beverly Hills. From this fabulous new album this week’s selection is  Pioneer Town.
