This week we start with a new album release, perhaps the very best new album this year. Smooth jazz pioneer and superstar pianist David Benoit released David Benoit And Friends August 23rd. Among the incredible array of talent of those friends playing on this album are Dave Koz, Peter White, Rick Braun, Lindsey Webster, Marc Antoine, Vincent Ingala, and Tim Weissberg.

Trumpeter Rick Braun released on August 16th another of the best new albums of this year Crossroads. The title track already jumped to number 14 on Billboard on its first week on the charts.  Braun is a personal favorite of mine. He begins all our shows with his fabulous song Another Kind Of Blue. Here is a quote from Rick Braun about the soft and sultry song The Moment I Saw You that I will play first from his new album.

“I love this song. It’s really just one of those tunes that allows you to let the groove go on and on in a live setting, and to take you wherever you want to go.”

In the middle of the first hour I will play Billboard’s top three songs in smooth jazz for this week.

The second hour is devoted to the classics from this format. The conclusion, though not true smooth jazz is a very interesting story about an artist that plays really good easy listening music. Tune in to hear that story about Neil Sedaka and listen to one of his Billboard top 100 number ones, Laughter In The Rain.

Thank you for your continuing support of this program and KKRN.
