October 15, 2016:  This week Intermountain Classics celebrates romance!  Romantic Serenades, that is, in honor of North State Symphony’s chamber concerts in Redding and  Chico next weekend featuring concert master Terrie Baune and the strings of the symphony.   We will hear from conductor Scott Seaton about two of the works to be performed on the concert, the lovely and lush string serenades by Tchaikovsky and Sir Edward Elgar, as well as the beautiful Opus 8 string trio by Ludwig van Beethoven.  In the second hour, we will hear more serenades, this time featuring wind instruments and voices, by Richard Strauss, Antonin Dvorak and Ralph Vaughn Williams.

All Intermountain Classics shows for the 2016 year are now archived on the KKRN website, www.kkrn.org.  If you miss a program or you want to hear it again, go to the Intermountain Classics section of the www.kkrn.org website and look for the show you want to hear.  Each show is available for immediate playback.   And for updates and special features, check the Intermountain Classics page on Facebook, and “like” us if you enjoy the show!
