North State Symphony Concert Preview May 14-15 2016 & Chamber Music by Schumann and Saint Saens

May 7, 2016:  Intermountain Classics presents a special preview of next weekend’s North State Symphony concerts in both Redding and Chico.  During tonight’s program, symphony conductor and music director Scott Seaton talks about the concert and the music to be presented, as well as highlights of next season’s concert programs.  These concerts will feature music by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Puccini and a special performance of a new work by contemporary American composer Mason Bates called “Mothership”.  The second hour of the program is devoted to chamber music by Schumann and Saint Saens, and a composition jointly composed by Philip Glass and Indian sitarist Ravi Shankar called “Ragas in Minor Scale”.
